Raven Renewables welcomes new Business Development Manager
Raven Renewables has appointed a new Business Development Manager to help meet increased demand for renewable energy solutions as the company expands its operations in the sector.
Mathew Gibson will focus on delivering renewable energy solutions in the Surrey and Hampshire areas, driving forward Raven Renewables’ commitment to reducing the amount of carbon emitted from buildings to create a more sustainable way of living.
The renewables arm of Raven Housing Trust works with housing developers, builders, affordable housing providers, commercial businesses, and charitable organisations.
It recently installed more than 150 solar panels to two commercial warehouses owned by international laboratory diagnostics specialist, Serosep, along with battery storage devices.
The solar energy project will allow the company’s Crawley site to generate most of its own electricity, saving the business almost £900,000 over the next 25 years, with installation costs recouped in six years.
Mathew will be using his wealth of expertise and knowledge of the industry to build on Raven Renewables’ existing success in the market as the organisation looks to expand its operations further.
He has global experience of the renewables sector, having held positions including Sales Manager and Technical Sales Manager in America, South Africa, and United Arab Emirates.
He has led on a series of large-scale commercial projects and worked with high-profile companies, supplying 1MW of solar panels to one factory in Dubai.
Mathew said: “I am excited to have joined Raven Renewables and I’m looking forward to helping build on the excellent work that it is already doing in the sector. I am a passionate advocate of renewable energy and strongly believe in Raven Renewables’ commitment to creating a more sustainable way of living while ensuring cutting-edge renewable energy technologies should be affordable and accessible to all.
“One of the things that attracted me to the company was that it ploughs all of its profits back into its founder, Raven Housing Trust, which provides safe, secure, affordable homes.”
Nigel Newman, Raven Renewables’ Director of Strategy and Growth, added: “I’m pleased to welcome Mathew to Raven Renewables and am confident that his experience and expertise will be a real asset to the team. Demand for renewable energy solutions is growing across all sectors and, as a direct result, we are significantly expanding our operation in order to support a range of organisations, including housing providers, local authorities, and businesses to achieve their aim of becoming more energy efficient.”
