Raven Renewables appoints third Business Development Manager
Renewable energy expert Stuart Hatch has been appointed as Business Development Manager at Raven Renewables , part of Raven Housing Trust, as we continue to grow our team to meet increased demand in the sector.
An early pioneer of renewable energy, Stuart has been instrumental in delivering a host of large-scale renewable energy and home efficiency projects across the country.
He worked on the Cosy Devon programme with EON, First Time Central Heating with SSE Energy Services and Cornwall Council, ECO and LAD funding initiatives and the UK’s largest air source heat pump scheme with Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) via the Energy Innovation Programme’s Electrification of Heat Demonstration Project with OVO Energy.
Stuart will play a key role in developing Raven Renewables’ market presence, driving forward the company’s commitment to reducing the amount of carbon emitted from buildings and creating a more sustainable way of living.
As part of his new role, Stuart will focus on providing renewable energy and low carbon solutions to the Kent and Sussex areas, working with housing developers, builders, affordable housing providers, utility companies, commercial businesses, and charitable organisations, building on the growing number of commercial projects carried out by our renewables arm.
Raven Renewables was recently sub-contracted by AD Construction Group to install air source heat pumps, solar panels, and battery storage units in Raven Housing Trust homes as part of an ongoing planned programme of retrofit work.
The project, which supports the our commitment to becoming carbon net zero by 2050, is being delivered through funding received as part of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s bid in Wave 1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).
Stuart said: “I’ve worked in the renewable energy and home efficiency sectors since it first emerged in the early 2000s and am passionate about our environment and the impact we are having on future generations. I have seen the renewables’ sector evolve significantly over the years and it is great to see that we now recognise the urgent need to reduce CO2 emissions and to live in a much more sustainable way.
“Raven Renewables offers a unique and industry-leading proposition, re-investing all of its profits back into its parent company, Raven Housing Trust. This gives me a feeling of great satisfaction for our communities and, importantly, supports equity investors and businesses with ESG obligations.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with organisations and businesses and finding the right solutions to help them achieve their goals of becoming carbon net zero in the future.”
Nigel Newman, Raven Renewables’ Director of Strategy and Growth, added: “I’m pleased to welcome Stuart, who is now our third Business Development Manager, to our expanding team. Stuart has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the sector spanning many years and will be instrumental in helping us to achieve our aim of raising the profile and importance of renewable energy solutions, ensuring that these technologies are installed in new buildings are retrofitted in existing buildings.”
