What’s on guide for October half term
It’s an exciting time of year for children, with a much needed break from school and the chance to get dressed up for spooky fun! Here’s our guide to some local things to keep the kids busy this October half term:
- Ewell Court Library is hosting a free Halloween event on Saturday 26th October from 10am – 12pm including free fun activities, a trail and crafts.
- Gatton Park between Reigate and Merstham is inviting little wizards and witches on Sunday 27th October to join in fun activities and a trail around the grounds. Find out more and book here – https://gattonpark.co.uk/events/open-day-halloween-wizards-and-witches-2/
- The Merstham Hub has some fantastic events on throughout the week including Harry Potter Bingo, a ghost hunt and some Diwali crafts.
- St Luke’s Church in Reigate is hosting ‘The Alternative’ on Thursday 31st October, ideal for those who aren’t so keen on all things Halloween but still want to get together with friends for fun activities and games.
- St Paul’s Church in Cheam are also hosting an alternative to Halloween disco. Their Glow in the Dark parties (one for younger children and old for older ones) will take place on Thursday 31st October. Find out more here – https://www.saintpauls.co.uk/events
- Woodhatch Community Centre have a Halloween Disco for ages 3-11 on Friday 1st November. Tickets must be pre-booked here – https://bookwhen.com/communitycentres
- Head on a spooky decoration hunt. So many people get creative at this time of year, so you could take a walk around your neighbourhood to see what decorations you can spot … and perhaps get some easy ideas to recreate at home
- Check out your local library. Our local libraries often have lots of activities happening throughout school holidays that are free or great on a budget. Find out about Surrey libraries here and West Sussex libraries here.
